While we have security measures in place that block millions of emails, a very small percentage may slip through our filters.

REPORT PHISHING EMAILS IN OUTLOOK

If you believe you’ve received a phishing email, report the email using the “Report Phish” button in Outlook.

SOCIAL ENGINEERING

In social engineering, an attacker uses social skills to obtain information. By asking questions, the attacker is able to gain valuable information. This can often be done in pieces, with the attacker targeting multiple people.

Oftentimes the attacker will claim a false identity such as (but not limited to)

• A new employee

• A repair person

• A researcher

• A representative from a charity organization

• Tech support

• Bank employees
