Welcome to the MPS Compliance Training Series!

By making compliance training a priority at Minneapolis Public Schools, we can create a safer and better workplace culture which focuses on building and maintaining trust.

New Employees are required to complete compliance training within their first 30 days. 

Compliance Training Timeline: 

  1. You need to complete Compliance Training Series within the first month of being hired as a new employee.

  2. Every year, you’ll need to complete Compliance Training again, to fulfill state and federal law requirements.


How to access the training series

Step 1: Sign in to Google Chrome

To receive credit for the course, you will need to sign in to Google Chrome.

Note 1: Your course progress can only be saved when you are signed in to Google Chrome with your MPS account. If you're not signed in to Google Chrome, the course may not be marked as complete.

Note 2: Once you complete the course, you'll be directed to return to your "My Learning" page, where you can see your list of assigned training courses. You may need to scroll down to see the next course.

If you select the "exit" button at the end of the course without passing the Knowledge Check, you won't be directed to return to your "My Learning" page. Please be sure to receive a checkmark in the navigation menu next to the Knowledge Check before exiting each course. At the end of each course you successfully complete you will see a pop-up window stating that you've completed the course and asking you to redirect to "My Learning."

01 | Ethical practices as an employee

The Minneapolis Public School’s Code of Ethics inspires trust in the integrity, impartiality, and devotion to the best interests of the district, its students, families, and community members. As a general guideline, the use of good judgement, based on the highest ethical principles is the standard of acceptable conduct. All employees of Minneapolis Public Schools are expected to conduct business in accordance to this code and in a manner that excludes considerations of personal advantage or gain.


02 | Mandated Reporting

As MPS employees, we have a responsibility to ensure that our students feel safe and welcomed in our schools. As a more informed and aware employee, we expect that you will carry out your duties as a mandated reporter and take action when you suspect a student has been abused or neglected.


03 | Title IX

In alignment with the Harassment Prevention course, our goal is to further educate our workforce on Title IX and the many complexities of this act. MPS is committed to providing educational opportunities and workplaces that are free of discrimination. We thank you for taking the time to learn about Title IX and ask that you direct any future questions or concerns about this important training to the proper authority.


04 | Harassment Prevention AND RESPONSE

MPS is committed to providing educational opportunities and workplaces that are free of discrimination. As an employee in our system, it is important that you feel safe so that you are able to positively contribute to the success of our students. This training will help you recognize and prevent harassment from happening in the workplace as well as understand how to report cases of harassment. Our ultimate goal is a respectful atmosphere where students and staff can achieve their educational, professional, and personal goals.


05 | Bullying Prevention
AND Response

The MPS Bullying Prevention and Response training is designed to help you recognize what bullying is, prevent bullying incidents from occurring in our schools, and how to respond to potential bullying incidents. Our ultimate goal is to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment that is free from bullying for all of our students.

06 | Maintaining Professional Staff/Student Boundaries

The goal of this training is to provide MPS staff with the information needed to ensure each of us are aware of how professional boundaries between staff and students are an important component of a safe and inclusive school climate.


07 | CYBERSECURITY FUNDAMENTALS

By completing this course, you’ll be able to:

  1. Identify common cyberattacks.

  2. Implement cybersecurity practices to prevent potential future cyberattacks.


08 | WORKING WITH DATA

In this course we’ll explore the laws, regulations, and policies that determine how MPS handles data.

By completing this course, you’ll be able to:

  1. Identify if data is public or private.

  2. Understand which laws and policies impact data management.

  3. Implement requirements and best practices for protecting, storing, sharing, and deleting/destroying data.
