In order to best support the success of new employees, it is important for leaders to provide a smooth and welcoming entrance into Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS). New Employee Orientation is a process designed to introduce them to the culture of Minneapolis Public Schools as well as your respective department or facility.
Orientation is the opportunity to create a good first impression, establish a culture of learning, align goals and expectations, enhance retention, enable early contribution, and encourage integration into the Minneapolis Public Schools environment. This process involves the active participation of the supervisor and the new employee. Departmental orientation is critical, as it directly affects an employee’s performance and contribution to the organization.
