Overview

We appreciate your interest in learning more about how to improve attendance and reduce absenteeism in one of the most valuable roles, teachers. As you are aware, teacher absenteeism in Minneapolis Public Schools is a challenge that has existed for many years. While we recognize the issue, we want to tackle the problem from a slightly different lens than in prior years.

The Teacher Absenteeism Training Series is broken up into four parts and covers the following:

  1. The four common factors that contribute to teacher absenteeism

  2. The impact of teacher absenteeism in MPS

  3. How to shape/re-shape culture as a means of managing absenteeism

  4. How to conduct corrective discipline

When completing this series for the first time, it is recommended that you follow each of the parts consecutively to gain a greater understanding of teacher absenteeism.
