This course is a required year-long training for school psychologists in their first two years of employment or interns school psychologists with MPS. It covers the unique systems and process used in MPS and the principle and practices for good school psychological services in a diverse urban setting. In addition, it provides opportunities for them to reflect their practice with colleagues and supervisory staff.
- New School Psychologists and Interns will know the universal, selected, and targeted services that MPS provides for students.
- New School Psychologists and Interns will assess students using best practices as defined in MPS.
- New School Psychologists and Interns will understand how to work with students from a variety of racial, ethnic, religious, socioeconomic, linguistic, cultural, and personal backgrounds.
